O'Grady has the father of Jim O'Grady and Jan O'Grady. Jim O'Grady works as financial advisor. Her family raised her by their parents who resided in Wheaton within Illinois and then graduated in 1981 with a diploma from the Wheaton North High School. In commercials, she appeared before moving from Illinois' Wheaton to Los Angeles. O'Grady made her debut in the industry by modelling in Montgomery Ward and making commercials.
